While I was biking today, an acorn fell out of a tree and landed on my helmet on its way down. It scared the hell out of me.

I leaned out over the edge of the parking garage to take a picture and for some reason my vertigo didn't kick in at all. That was good, because I was 7 stories up.

Yeah, so what if I have my fingernails painted black with little bits of glitter. Is there a problem with that?

Finally went and bought some nice spray lube for my bike chain and gears after work tonight. It was getting quite squeaky and every time I road, the repetitive little noise scratched its way into my brain.

I get giddy every time I get a roll of pictures back. Even if things don't turn out quite the way I wanted them too, they're always a great collection of moments captured.

There are those times when your clothes are cold and it's cold outside, so you hold perfectly still knowing that even the brush of the fabric against your skin will send chills up your spine.

Last weekend it was 95 degrees. Tonight, I was out on my bike at about 9pm and I could swear I was riding through sleet.

Friends. I just really like my friends and meeting new ones and laughing and talking and sharing. I don't care if I sound like a sap, my friends rule.

Went rollerblading with 5 pound weights in each arm tonight and wow did I feel it. Not only that, but the wind was in my face the whole way home, making things even more difficult.

Drove my car to a meeting after work and got stuck in traffic. It made me realize how much I dislike even owning a car sometimes, but how hard it would be to do without it as well. Instead of getting upset, I just started singing along with my music really loud, which had one of two effects on the people around me. Some people laughed at my bad singing and being stuck in the same situation with me while others grew visibly more angry at my lack of frustration with things.

Haven't eaten meat for a month now and feeling great. Another vegetarian friend made dinner for me tonight and it was again quite delicious.

Any rain is a nice thing when there hasn't been any measurable precipitation in nearly a month. I could literally smell the ground breathing a sigh of relief as I biked home in the drizzle. When I got home, I drifted off for a short nap while listening to it come down outside.

I might make a cook of myself yet. Tonight, I fixed honey dijon potatoes with fresh onions and crumbled tofu. It probably should have been two servings, but it tasted so good that I ended up eating it all.

I really can't believe I just put that picture on my site. I must be having a fleeting moment of self-confidence. Either that, or I'm trying to damage the eyes of everyone who visits.

I didn't have enough mopey music at work today, so I listened to the same CD over and over and over again. I'm right with you Mr. Oldham. "A Minor Place" indeed.

I got some cherry koolaid dust on my hands tonight while making it, so when I washed them, there was an instant that they looked like they were bleeding.

Would you be surprised if I told you that I ate almost half a pound of spaghetti with roasted garlic and onion sauce for dinner? You shouldn't be.

While at lunch with my parents and brother today, a little kid kept whistling in the restaurant. It was loud and annoying, and just about the time that I was going to go say something to the parents, the kid started eating and was quiet.

More hijinks coming home at night. I heard the squealing tires about half a block behind me and had to hop the curb with my bike and ride through a yard to avoid a drunk driver. It wasn't _that_ close, but it did scare me quite a bit.

One of the nicest things about getting back from a trip is sleeping in your own bed again. It was even nicer when I was able to open the window and have a cool breeze blow in as I stretched across my queen-sized bed after jamming in a sleeping bag for a couple nights.

Hiked and climbed to a 10,000+ foot elevation. Looked out over a glacier, mountain lakes, and my friends who were 1000 feet below. The view was completely amazing and I think if I ever lived in Colorado, it would be my goal to try to climb all the highest peaks. It was an absolute rush and my Nebraska lungs held up surprisingly well as I moved up the hill with hardly any problems (and then ran back down again and finally caught everyone near the bottom of the 4-mile trail).
