Walking around the small town hungry, we figured we'd have to break down and eat at a greasy spoon diner or a mainstream chain that didn't sound so appealing. Instead, we stumbled upon a rather tasty little restaurant that served some great vegetarian food. Who would have thought?

Hanging out and chatting with friends and people I didn't even know. A good night overall, even though it was a going-away party.

Finally got a roll of film back tonight after slacking and slacking and not taking anything. What was on the roll were some of my favorite pictures that I'd taken in a long time.

400 miles pedaled so far this year. It sure isn't much, but it's still a nice round number to go on.

I finally saw the first teeny-tiny tomato on one of my plants that I have growing. Although I'd seen blossoms about a week ago, I guess it didn't occur to me that I would have an actual vegetable so soon. I'm hoping that as the summer goes on, I will have loads and loads of tasty tomatoes from the 5 plants.

I actually fell asleep while reading a book tonight after work. I woke up and had somehow kept my place with my fingers, but my head was in a haze the rest of the night after the 40 minute drift-off.

Went biking with my brother all over a strange town and saw some of the strangest things including, but not limited to; a several thousand ton pile of metal shavings, a stop sign with approximately 30 bullet holes through it, an abandoned semi truck with every single window shattered. Ah yes, small-town Nebraska.

This week has been going by so strangely and quickly and busily that I was actually confused as to what day it was and had to look at my computer calendar just to make sure.

As I was biking home tonight from work, a truck made a sharp turn onto the street that I was on coming in the opposite direction. I swerved over to the far right side of the street and sped up to get out of the way, as he looked a bit out of control. Just after he'd rounded the turn and was even with me, I heard a loud crash and looked back, startled. A large grill had fallen out of the back of his truck onto the street, right where I had just biked.

Thunder is soothing to me when I'm laying in bed. Unfortunately today it came in the morning when I needed to get up and go to work.

The compression of the heat and humidity crushed me on my couch after work and I didn't wake up until I'd slept for about an hour. Ugh.

It sure is an overused cliche', but it felt literally like a sauna outside today. The air was thick with humidity and although it threatened to storm several times and lift the veil, it never did. Here's hoping that I hear thunder and the sound of raindrops when I go to bed.

I spent over an hour tonight replanting tomato plants and pruning different hanging plants that I had in my apartment and had gotten out of control. I also cut up a bunch of wire and put it around the tomatoes, because I seem to be at war with the squirrels around my apartment building, and they've already destroyed several of my plants.

I used to never be that into grocery shopping, but for some reason I've found it really fun lately, like almost something that I look forward to. That, and I've been addicted to ice cream lately. Mmm...ice cream.

Mental note to myself: Please stop slurping beverages that are warm. It's an annoying habit that you've gotten yourself into after one too many times of burning your tongue and the fact that other people have told you they can hear you should be enough to make you quit. Sheesh. C'Mon man.

Just keep piling the work on because at some point I'm going to finish it all and then I'm going to breath a sigh of relief and probably shut off my computer for awhile and just let it set.

For at least 24 hours.

Over the past couple of years, I've sort of gotten a bad impression of doctors. I know they're busy and stuff, but I always feel like they give a crap or take their time and even check out what's actually wrong. Today, I had a doctor that I thought was listening to me, though, and it helped to change my opinion a bit. I still don't like being told that I'm going to have chronic pain, though.

Some of the best restaurants out there are the little ones that you find unexpectedly and walk in and have a great meal. That was the case again today and after filling my belly on Indian buffet after travelling to another city for the day, I had to fight off a food coma with a cold coffee drink.

From zero to 15 minutes, I wanted to walk out. From 15 minutes to an hour, I was gagging with the amount of cheese contained within. From one hour to finish, I was slightly won over, but still felt rather hollow walking out of the theater. So much potential, and so little payout on good old Moulin Rouge, which is too bad, since I really like Baz Luhrman and the everyone involved with the film.
